The NSLS-II UEC is now accepting nominations for the UEC Community Service Award. The NSLS-II UEC instituted this annual Community Service Award in 2002 to recognize an individual from the NSLS-II community for their service, innovation, and/or dedication to NSLS-II users. This is not an award for individual scientific achievement, but rather for contributions that have improved the quality of science for the NSLS-II User community. Any member of the NSLS-II community with an active appointment is eligible for nomination, with the exception of beamline scientists, current members of the NSLS-II UEC, or candidates running for UEC membership in the current election. In addition to the award itself, the award winner’s name is engraved on the UEC Community Service Award plaque displayed at NSLS-II.
The NSLS-II UEC is also accepting nominations for the inaugural Outstanding Beamline Scientist Award to recognize the exceptional efforts of an individual beamline scientist at NSLS-II on behalf of NSLS-II users. This is not an award for individual scientific achievement, but rather for contributions that have improved the quality of science for the NSLS-II User community. This person must officially serve in the capacity of a Beamline Scientist at NSLS-II, and eligibility is open to NSLS-II employees, Partner Beamline Scientists, and Partner User Beamline Scientists.
The winners of these Awards will be selected by the UEC from the nominations received from the NSLS-II Community at large. In order to participate in the nomination process, you must be an NSLS-II user with an active appointment.
Deadline: Nominations are due by 3/28/2025.
